GABRIELLE CRONAN Principal Dance Central. Teaches Classical Ballet, Jazz/Hip-Hop, Flamenco, Contemporary & Creative dance.

Gabrielle Cronan founded Dance Central in 1993.

Gabrielle’s career in dance began as a passion from early childhood and through determination, dedication and encouragement from family and peers has enjoyed a successful career in dance.

Gabrielle trained at the Victorian College of the Arts before being recruited for the WA Ballet Company as a dancer working with many great international choreographers and performing nationally. After dancing Gabrielle stayed on with the WA Ballet Company as Touring Wardrobe Mistress. Professional appointments with The Royal Shakespeare Company London, Scottish Ballet Company, Marcelle Marceau, WA Opera Company, and the Playhouse Theatre have enhanced Gabrielle’s experience within the industry.

Further dance studies in Flamenco were studied under The Masters at Amor de Dios, Madrid, Spain (1996).

Gabrielle was a National Recipient of the Australian Institute of Classical Dance annual Teachers’ Scholarship with The Australian Ballet School in 2003.

Gabrielle has been engaged as Secretary on the National Board of The Australian Institute of Classical Dance (AICD), The Western Australian
representative for AICD, and the Western Australian Representative for the Borovansky Classical Ballet Syllabus.

Gabrielle seeks to employ highly qualified staff to share the integrity and professional attitude required to provide both a caring and professional service at Dance Central.

 

 
     
 

LAUREN CARY Teaches Classical Ballet, Jazz/Hip Hop, Tap and Creative.

Trained and completed Southern Federation of Dance Teachers Certificate. Currently enroled in Early Childhood and Primary Teaching at Edith Cowan University. Four years of full time dance specialist with early childhood developement. Professional appointments include working with the wiggles as Henry the Octopus, choreographer of Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and various childrens performance groups.

 
     
 

JULIE MOORE Teaches Tap and Jazz/Hip Hop.

Trained in R.A.D Ballet, and ISTD Jazz and Tap. Teaching Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Contemporary dance. Danced with STEPS Youth Dance Company. Held both state and Natioinal Competitive Aerobics Titles. Choreographed performancs for the City of Bunbury Eistedfodd, Leeuwin Estate and the Margaret River Show.

 
     
 

TANYA WASYLCZENKO Teaches Jazz/Hip Hop.

Bachelor of Science Major in Sports Science. Graduate Diploma Secondary Education, WA. Dance Specialist at Safety Bay Senior High School specializing in Jazz/Hip-Hop. Involved in the Rock Eisteddford Challenge 2002, Southwest Dance Festivals and an independent dance production of Romeo & Juliet at the Playhouse Theatre 2003. Teaches Jazz/Hip-Hop

ANGELYNE WOLFE Teaches Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap.

Freelance Photographer / Graphic Designer / Performer / Choreographer. BComm/Arts Double Major in Photography & Graphic Design, Edith Cowan University.

Angelyne has been privileged to attend workshops with some of the best hip hop dancers from LA, NY and Aus. Including Tre Armstrong (LA), Michael Schwandt (LA), Roger Lee (USA), Patrick Chen(USA), Rachel Yao (Kylie Minogue Dancer) and S.Y.T.Y.C.D Joel De Carteret. By continuing to be inspired by such artists, Angelyne’s dancing style remains funky fresh, and cutting edge.

C.S.T.D., B.B.O. trained. Dance history includes 1995-97 Assistant Teacher in Okinawa Japan for Sharleen Stoddart School of Dance. 1999 Recipient ‘Dux of Dance’ Melville SHS. Angelyne has taught at numerous highschools and dance schools including Betty Bently, Dance Workshop, The Studio, Bustagroove Dance, Melville SHS, St Hildas Anglican School, Scotch College. Resident Dancer/Character Performer at Connections Night Club 2006. Choreographer for LaFemme Boudoir, shows @ Metros City, StyleAid, Bullion, Connections, The Court. EMMA BENCIVENGA trained R.A D ballet I.S.T.D tap and jazz. Emma studied ballet with Marie Walton-Mahon (Newcastle) and completed fulltime dance studies with David Atkins at Dynamite Dance Studios (Sydney) 1993. Emma has 15 years experience in choreograhing and teaching many stules of dance including ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, modern and tap. She has choreographed musicals including Jesus Christ Superstar and 42nd Street and her routines have won first place in numerous competitions including City of Sydney Eisteddfod and won best choreography award, Rock Eisteddfod NSW 1994 & 1995.

Professional performances include music video clips, award nights, Sheraton Sydney Gala performance, 'Elvis Comeback Tour' Japan 1998, Bridal show 1999 - 2000, and numerous fashion shows for companies including Rip Curl, Hound Dog, Mossimo, SportsGirl.

Emma has worked in numerous private schools on the east coast developing dance programs for high school age students and completied her Bachelor of Education (Primary) at Murdoch University 2008.

 

 
     
LENA TRAJKOVSKA has performed and taught internationally as a singer/songwriter and musician. Lena had her own variety show in Macedonia and has performed in the international Eurovision contest. Lena teaches Singing.
 
     
 

 

JENNIFER WARREN - Joining the rapidly expanding Music tuition section of Dance and Music Central in North Fremantle is high profile pianist Jennifer Warren. Jennifer has performed and broadcast on National ABC with many of WA's leading musicians including vocalist Paul Wrigth and Alan Bounds as well as with members of WASO.

She was the chief accompanist at WAAPA Classical Music Department for 14 years and coached and performed with many of today's young stars. Before coming to WA with her flautist husband, Brian Warren in 1983, Jennifer performed in London's top venues including The Wingmore Hall, The Purcell Room and the Queen Elizabeth Hall, as well as on Midland, Welsh, ITV and BBC TV and radio.

Jennifer also worked in the field of Musical Theatre and was the on-stage pianist in London's West End production of 'Cabaret' starring Dame Judi Dench, with whom she appeared on a live TV Royal Gala Performance from Drury Lane Theatre.

Jennifer's teaching experience covers Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels and she is looking forward to building up a very high standard of piano tuition at all levels.

 

 
     
 

ISABELLA MOORE has been playing piano since the age of four, and has played in various bands, rock bands and orchestras. She currenly plays piano in a five piece band "South Street' which gigs around Perth. Isabella has been teaching Piano and Theatre Studies since she graduated from high school in 2005 where she received aards in both areas through her schling years. She is also completing the final year of her Bachelor of Arts Degree Majoring in Philosophy, English Literature and Theatre Studies. in 2007 Isabella won the University of Western Australia best Actress Award and is currently teaching Piano.

 
     
 

CASEY JENKINS began her studies in violinat the age of ten under John Berger. She is now in her third year of studies at the University of Western Australia under Alan Bonds. She has played with the WA Youth Orchestra, WAYMA, as well as UWA Symphony and String Orchestras. Casey has a particular interest in teaching young beginners.

 
     
 

SALLY BANYARD began learning piano at the age of seven and in 2003 completed TEE Music with her instrument, Clarinet. She finished her Bachelor of Music (Honours) in 2007 Majoring in Composition. Currently Sally is working towards her Graduate Diploma in Education and some day hopes to compose professionally.

 
     
 

BRIAN MITRA - Our Guitar and Bass tutor has been playing music since an early age, starting Yamaha Piano Method when he was five. At the age of 12 he began guitar and then at 14 picked up bass guitar and Drums. Whilst completing T.E.E. Music he played multiple instruments in several Jazz, Swing and Rock bands, as well as other bands touring all over Western Australia and New Zealand.

Brian is currently studying a Producing and Audio Engineering Degree at SAE Institute and plays in Fremantle Band "South Street" who have recently released a commercial CD with radio play and TV appearances and also works recording local bands and artists in his own recording studio, as a session musician, and electronic music producer.

 
     

SARAH WELLS has been teaching alto saxophone and piano privately for the past three years using a variety of resources and strategies primary through the AMEB and Suzuki syllabus to meet the varying requirements of each individual student. She has a broad musical background, having also studied clarinet and bassoon in a specialist music scholarship program and with additional experience on violin, guitar and trumpet. Aside from teaching Sarah is passionate about conducting. She is currently the junior school music director at Penrhos College and also works with several non-profit community and student ensembles including The Churchlands Community Orchestra and The Fellowship String Orchestra. Currently Sarah is undertaking post graduate studies at UWA, directing her research towards the implications of gender expectations on female orchestral conductors.

 

 

 
     
TARA SPENCER has been a student at Dance Central for the past eight years, and has been dancing since the age of six. She joined the Senior Performance Group in 2005, and has since danced professionally and competed in several state-wide competitions held in Mandurah and Bayswater. She is currently completing a double degree in Journalism and English and Creative Arts at Murdoch University. She teaches jazz and hip hop.
